The Vice-Rector for Research and Doctoral Development - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Petrana Stoykova, together with Prof. Dr. Mariya Stankova, coordinator of the Aurora Alliance team for the South-West University "Neofit Rilski" and Chief Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vesselina Dulgucheva, member of the Aurora Alliance team, took part in the annual meeting of the Alliance.
In the format of a conference, the members of the Aurora Alliance of European Universities met at the Université Paris-Est Créteil (UPEC), Paris in the period 19-22 May 2025 and once again emphasized the role of Aurora as a "partnership of like-minded and closely cooperating European universities". Among the many topics discussed for collaborative research, academic excellence, and opportunities to drive societal change, the 2025 Aurora Annual Conference also highlighted the first-ever Aurora Sustainability Summit and three hands-on workshops on future literacy, climate action, and biodiversity.
A separate panel presented the opportunities and potential of Southwestern University for a more comprehensive and fruitful partnership in the fields of sustainable development, natural and chemical sciences, law and business administration, economics, and pedagogy, in the context of internationalization.
